Basic Life Support
Introduction to and practice of BLS
Awareness of the Basic Life Support guidelines plus Resuscitation and dealing with the Unconscious Casualty is a vital part of First Aid.
Basic life support skills are used in situations when a life-threatening illness or injury can\'t be treated straightaway in a hospital. Simple techniques can be taught which will keep a victim alive until help arrives and basic life support can be given without the aid of medical equipment if necessary.
Our Basic Life Support Courses are held in and around Sussex.
This is a 4 hour course (inclusive of breaks) and aims to give the participant the very basics of First Aid. Basic Life Support can be given by any person who is trained to do it and is very useful in many professions i.e. activity leaders, school teachers, social workers, day care workers, not just those who work in a hospital.
The use of the AED (automated external defibrillator) is also explained.
